Research Background

I noticed a disconnect between Red Bull TV’s product roadmap and the user feedback in user reviews — Many reviews referenced the inability to find content, yet we didn’t have any projects planned to address these issues.


Process Summary

I created a tagging system to quantify the qualitative feedback from user reviews in 2022, which validated that users’ primary complaint in reviews was finding content.

Using insights from these reviews and previous user research I conducted, I worked with our lead designer to develop a new concept for browsing content, which I then tested with a recruit base of 55 Red Bull TV users.


Research Result

We presented our findings to leadership, where we advocated for adding a new project to the roadmap that would focus on fixing the pain points identified in the research. The recommendation was approved — We kicked off the two-year project in 2022, beginning with several new research initiatives investigating improvements to metadata, content hierarchy, & navigation.
